Over my (many) years in the publishing business, I’ve heard thousands of ideas about how to create a successful book launch.

Some are great, like this one: “Do some homework to see if you live near any authors in your genre. Reach out to them with a letter, ask them out for coffee, and strike up a friendship. Most likely, they’ll have dozens of great ideas for your book launch.”

On the other hand, there’s this thought: “Gender reveal parties are all the rage now! Come up with a way to have huge dramatic fireworks or explosions to highlight your book release and get it on video!”

Don’t. Just don’t.

As part of my book marketing campaign, 2021: The Year To Find Your Readers, I’ve compiled the best of the best ideas for a memorable book launch in my latest BookBaby Blog post. It’s the first half of my discussion of all the “Do’s and Don’ts” of executing a book launch for self-published authors.

Want even more? I’m covering this topic in my next BookBaby Live broadcaston Tuesday, May 25 at 3 pm EDT! All the best, Steven Spatz
